The second annual REDRESS meeting took place at the CSIC headquarters in Barcelona. From 11 to 13 March, 60 members of the REDRESS consortium attended the meeting. The agenda was full of presentations and open discussions to plan further activities, from field work to participating in joint events and strengthening the network with other marine restoration initiatives. All work package leaders provided information on the progress of the different tasks of each WP. The 28 presentations illustrated the good progress of the actions planned according to the timetable described in the grant agreement. No delays are identified at this stage. The agenda was also characterized by several open sections from WP1 to WP5 to allow a general discussion on some cross-cutting themes between the WPs to plan further actions in the second half of the project.
The meeting was also characterized by a specific event dedicated to young REDRESS researchers. The afternoon of the second day of the meeting saw the session “Ten-Minute Speeches: Rotating Presentations”, an occasion in which 12 young speakers from the REDRESS consortium staff presented their findings within the project. For some speakers this event represented their first presentation in front of an international audience. Congratulations to all speakers.
