On May 15th, at the Turin International Book Fair, Roberto Danovaro (UNIVPM) and Claudia Fachinetti participated at the “Mare dentro” event to present their book “Operazione Abissi” born from the collaboration between the REDRESS Project and the “Battello a Vapore” series published by Edizioni Piemme, part of the Mondadori Group.
This year, from 14 to 18 May 2026, more than 200.000 booklovers, professionals, students, translators and publishers stormed the book fair, confirming it as Italy’s largest publishing event with its 977 stalls, 70 events’ venues, over 2500 events on site and an additional 800 all around the city and region in the Salone Off Programme featuring Italian and International guests (https://www.salonelibro.it/eng.html).
During the “Mare dentro” event – which was attended by dozens of people – Roberto Danovaro, Claudia Fachinetti, and Giuseppe Festa – author of “La pescatrice” (Salani) – intertwined science and storytelling, ecology and fantasy, past mysteries and present passions to tell the story of the deep sea and the lives of those who carry it within them, making it their story, their life, and our future.
